There are a variety of colleges and universities within 15 miles of Hampton. Nearby Pittsburgh offers a number of reputable higher education institutes including Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, Community College of Allegheny County, Duquesne University and Point Park College. The Hampton Community Park is a great place for outdoor recreation. It is located at 3101 McCully Road, Allison Park. It encompasses 195 acres with facilities including a pool, soccer fields, tennis courts and ball fields. The park also offers 3 miles of scenic hiking. All services are open from May 1 to September 30. Another great location is the Depreciation Lands Museum and Park. Take a step back in time and learn about early European settlement in the Depreciation Lands. There are numerous activities making it a fun way to spend the day. From April to November costumed demonstrators put on a show on Sunday afternoons. The Depreciation Lands Museum and Park is located at 4743 Pioneer Road, Allison Park. Nearby Pittsburgh is home to an abundance of recreational opportunities. The city also hosts a number of annual events and festivals. A few of the major ones include the Pittsburgh International Children's Festival, Three Rivers Art Festival and Kidapalooza.
